Challenges
Regular IT audits and the requirements from its parent company, the Otto Group, for secure SAP operations increasingly generated workloads for FRANKONIA’s small SAP team that went far beyond traditional SAP Basis tasks. At the same time, developing a specialist knowledge of SAP Security was essential for the effective implementation of these requirements.
Facing these challenges, FRANKONIA turned to its long-standing SAP Basis service provider, TakeASP AG from Würzburg, in early 2023. The goal was to implement efficient SAP Vulnerability and Patch Management for its central SAP system.
Solution
TakeASP, specializing in SMEs, has continuously built SAP security expertise and is therefore familiar with the various solution providers. After SecurityBridge acquired Protect4S in the autumn of 2023, the path was clear for implementing the SecurityBridge Platform.
The range of features and ease of maintenance were convincing, and the solution went live within a few days. Thanks to TakeASP training, FRANKONIA now operates the SecurityBridge Platform independently and uses the extensive SecurityBridge Knowledge Base to implement SAP Security Notes efficiently and promptly, while addressing vulnerabilities in its SAP system landscape.
Results and Customer Benefits
With SecurityBridge Patch Management, the monthly SAP Security Notes are no longer a problem, and the SAP Basis team has gained valuable time to focus on its core tasks.
Moving forward, the Security & Compliance Roadmap will be used to create an individual priority list based on hundreds of SecurityBridge vulnerability checks, enabling efficient system hardening and authorization concepts to counter the increasing threat of cyberattacks.
This enables FRANKONIA to prioritize and implement the most critical audit requirements with minimal effort while significantly improving the security of its SAP systems in a very short time.
