This September marked a special moment for us at SecurityBridge. From September 1 to September 8, our team gathered in the beautiful town of Rethymno, Crete, for an unforgettable All-Employee Meetup. Following our 2023 gathering at our headquarter in Ingolstadt, and a year filled with virtual interactions, various conferences and business events across Europe and the US, it was inspiring to reunite most of our remote-first team in person. The week was an invaluable occasion to build meaningful connections and spark vibrant idea exchanges.
The Perfect Blend of Work and Fun
A stunning hotel located just steps away from the beach became our home and temporary office for the week. The Greek hospitality, incredible cuisine, and relaxing setting created the perfect atmosphere for both work and unwinding. While most of the team was able to attend in person, we ensured that teammates who couldn’t join us on-site were able to participate virtually, maintaining our commitment to inclusivity.
The agenda allowed a mix of professional growth and personal bonding opportunities. Interdepartmental workshops allowed us to dive deep into critical topics, while management presentations gave valuable insights into our company’s future direction. Furthermore, brainstorming sessions allowed us to bring up fresh ideas and recharged the team with a renewed sense of purpose.
Cultural Experiences and Bonding
However, the week wasn’t just about work. The fun we had together was just as important, filled with laughter, dancing, and shared stories. These precious moments allowed us to connect on a personal level, deepening the bonds among our teams.
One of the highlights of the week was an excursion to a traditional Cretan farm. With breathtaking views of the countryside and sea, we dove into the local culture, enjoying authentic regional specialties and discovering more about the farm’s history and Greek cuisine.
Another remarkable moment was our night out at the Baja Beach Club. The night was filled with celebration, laughter, and dancing to our favorite tunes, creating lasting memories for everyone.

Beyond the workshops and fun time together, this meetup was a crucial reminder of our company’s culture and values. As a remote-first organization, we highly value these opportunities to come together in real life, allowing team members who may have never met face-to-face to connect in person. It was incredible to see people connecting over, and despite differences in age, nationalities, and skillsets.
